Strabismus is a condition in which the eyes are not aligned with each other.
It is generally due to the lack of coordination between the extraocular muscles preventing the eyes to fixate a point in space leading to a loss of binocular vision and depth perception. An ophthalmologist properly trained in strabismus and kids is the medical doctor most qualified for managing this disease.

Management is medical or surgical depending on the underlying cause for the misalignment.   In some cases the patient wil receive patches with or without glasses in order to correct  amblyopia.  In other cases, the patient will undergo strabismus surgery.
